A Heart for Corgis
Our family has had puppy love for Corgis because of one special girl named Mattie Babe. She was the first and the favorite. Mattie had an attitude, she liked getting her nails painted and was a good snuggler. She was my Dad's "buddy" and Mom's first Corgi love. When Mom married Ray and moved to Aurora, Ray created "Mattie-land" by fencing a portion of his back yard just for her. While Mattie was still alive, Jiggs Number 1 found a home with them as well. After Mattie and Jiggs went to heaven, another Corgi made his way to Jefferson St., because he needed a home and everybody knew Mom and Ray loved Corgis. I don't remember that doggie's first name, but Mom and Ray kept forgetting it and called him Jiggs also. Thus, Jiggy Number 2 settled in to a home with love and treats. When Mom and Ray could no longer care for him, my sister found him another eager and accepting family. We were all sad to know that the Corgi dynasty had come to an end. Well, sort of... When I spoke to Mom yesterday, she told me that she had someone looking for another puppy for her! Thanks to dementia, Mom can go to a happy memory and relive it, like it really is happening. She also said that they always had trouble with Jiggy Number 2 and she hoped they didn't get another Corgi like him. When Mom moves to Texas with me, I hope she enjoys getting to know Tucker. I would also like to find a stuffed Corgi Dog for Mom to love on.

The last time I was with Grammie, she kept saying that Jiggy was out of dog food - I thus offered to go to Wal-Mart and get him food, in which she was so thankful. She also mentioned that she was glad that the two of us,(Jiggy and I) had each other, and were able to keep each other company at the house, while she was at work.
